Pink Clouds

Hey everyone, it's Tarina here! As you all probably know pink has been a staple colour this ss16, especially baby pink and mauve, so of course we had to do a Photoshoot dedicated to the colour! Now if you're like me and you're not really into bright girlie colours then at first you might be a little wary of this colour trend but hopefully this post will help change that. You probably won't be going out tomorrow in all pink but hopefully it will at least help you find a few statement pink pieces to add to your closet.

So this week we've been puttin up little previews of the pink cloud shoot on Instagram-which you should already know because you are all loyal followers on the gram hopefully. This shoot has been one of our most exciting shoots so far because we experimented with props I.e. pink smoke and shot it on a rooftop, which although difficult due to the wind was also really fun.

So we originally just wanted to do a pink/mauve coloured shoot and then I had the brilliant idea to experiment with some smoke.

So anyway onto the most important part...the clothes! Generally when styling I like to choose a main item and then work around that so my staple for this shoot was a pink faux leather skirt. From there I found a pair of patent leather heeled boots that went perfectly with the skirt and finished off with a white crop top as I didn't want to go all pink.

What's a banging pink photoshoot without Thanai?! Yes, yes guys be very excited that we were both in on this shoot and posting collectively about the planning and our outfits. Contrary to Tarina's over zealous lie, it was actually my idea to do a photoshoot using smoke to create an artistic effect. Ofcourse I will not take away her executive decision to do a pink shoot as she earned it. The pictures came out great considering the difficulty we had with the wind!

Let's talk about my outfit! So I had ordered all three of the items I was wearing for next day delivery a week before and they didn't come on time which meant I was in a panic. My sister and I came up with an idea to do a contrast of our style, she wanted to do a smart look where as I kinda wanted to do a casual look. Royal mail/Yodel/Dpd took the absolute mick and luckily I managed to receive them an hour before the shoot. How kind of them! I've been wanting to purchase a bomber jacket for ages but I didn't want to go for the regular colours everyone goes for so the idea for the pink shoot gave me an excuse to get it. I thought it went quite well with the crepe midi bandage dress that I purchased from Pretty Little Thing as it gave a layered yet edgy look.

I know what you guys want to ask...

Yes, the creepers are fake! I think Ego Official did a really good job of making a dupe of Rihanna x Puma and they are very comfortable!

I hope you guys like the photos and continue to follow us on our journey! I have included a Youtube video vlog that we did that day which includes how I accomplished my makeup look and the daily antics we get up to on a blog shoot below. Enjoy! Xx

  1. I love this post and the photos. Pastel pink is starting to become one of my favourite colours but I had no idea on how to wear the colour but your post has given me some inspiration.
