Throwin' Shade

We know you guys probably feel a sense of resentment right now and we thoroughly apologise but we have been on a break.
We're back up and running and have a lot of pictures to share from our holiday as well as revealing more new projects and just being fabulous in the clothes we adorn.
Speaking of fabulous, what could be more fabulous throwing on a pair of joggers?..But wait, not just any joggers but a jogger skirt?!
I can say I have found the new thing to joggers/tracksuit bottoms. Now usually I don't do the whole Sports Luxe look but once I saw this skirt it just screamed 'comfortable' and you guys know me well enough now to know I love fashion that is comfortable.
I decided to team it with some trainers and a long sleeved turtle neck top just to make it look a little more sophisticated..something I would wear on a Date Night with bae..If I had one *sighs*
Unfortunately, I am not a sneakerhead and purchased these trainers years ago on holiday and can't give you the exact name. All I know is they are Nike?
Hopeless, hopeless T!
That's all for me lovelies and just before you go I'd love your opinion on whether it's a good idea to wear the skirt with tights. If you styled this skirt with tights, I'd love to see a pic and might even feature it on our instagram!

Curly Weave 101

Hey Beautiful People!

It's T here, with a quick update on my many different hairstyles which I think this one is definitely going to be a keeper as I have been getting soo many compliments about it. I've even had people assume its my real hair and personally I think that is the best compliment you can get whilst having a weave in because it shows the blending is flawless.

Now usually, I don't buy hair online and as I once had a bad experience with a very well known company which after a good chat with some other bloggers and fellow consumers, I decided not to name and shame as the situation was resolved. However, it still has scarred me in a way as I am quite apprehensive in purchasing not only from small companies and boutiques but any in general.

Nevertheless, I came across CapelliAmore on Instagram and was immediately in love with a post of  ANTM Raelia Lewis flashing their Indian range. I managed to purchase four bundles (two for me and two for another relative) and it came very quickly. I might also add it was wrapped beautifully and also came with some Hair Care tips.

This is what the hair looks like once brushed out:

Once washed and shampooed and conditioned, the hair has a lot of elasticity and curls bounce back as soon as you add water

I used TreSemme's Naturals range which are quite mild as they have lower sulphates levels than other shampoos and the conditioner was amazing!

Once installed, to blend my own hair by flat ironing my hair on low heat as it didn't need to be bone straight and put in rollers.

The hair has a lot of volume in it as you can see and I definitely could pass it on as my own hair. Before I installed it as a weave, I actually used the hair for a curly ponytail for a while as you can see in my previous posts. So I recommend this hair for those who want to go for a more natural look and want to ease off on the flat ironing and blow drying. I have joined the bandwagon and started my Hairfinity journey as my hair is all weaved up which after my one month's supply, I will be posting about.

So how do I maintain the curls?

  • Tangle Teezer - I recently purchased the Original Detangling HairBrush and the Aqua Splash Detangling HairBrush from FeelUnique . The original I use for dry hair and the Aqua Splash for when I am washing my hair or I feel the hair has gotten a little too bushy so I would use a spray bottle with water to loosen the curls and detangle.
  • Creme of Nature Argan Oil to give hair moisture
That's it folks!

If you need hair, I recommend CapelliAmore !!

Until next time xx

Lyndseylovesxx Launch Party

As glamorous as this event looks, let me tell you it was not so glamorous struggling to get down to the Glam Town of Essex!

Nevertheless, we managed to get down there with a very helpful cab driver giving us the ins and outs of Essex history and TOWIE's stars! I hope to meet this lovely gentleman again as he was oh so helpful but unfortunately I can not remember his name so big up to the cab service outside Brentwood station!

Now me and my sister have never been to Essex and did not want to base our opinion on the generalistic stereotype that it is a pretentious place. We are happy to say it is definitely far from it!

We met a lot of lovely people including Sophie Lawrence from Big Brother 2013 who caught our eyes with her amazing over the knee boots from River Island, we just knew she was a girl after our own heart! We also met one of her close friends Josh Smith who is a celebrity hair stylist, singer and artist (before he even told us we were convinced we knew him already) with a great smile we might add. It was a lovely opportunity to meet such genuine people with different interests and passions.

So what is Lyndseylovesxx?

Lyndseylovesxx is a collection of gorgeous gifts for gorgeous people which came from her love of travelling and shopping to which she has found little gifts that she has shared with us. We absolutely love the concept and can say our favourite product is the lip balms specifically the Unicorn Farts and yes we feel very rude saying it lol! It smells a treat and most of the products she has on offer are perfect for stocking fillers or just a little gift to someone special. She also shared with us that the person that made the solid perfumes had a wife with very sensitive skin which gave him an incentive to create this product which is very helpful for all of us out there who react to certain ingredients.

Unfortunately, the unicorn fart lip balms are currently sold out (maybe the unicorns changed their mind and realised how good they actually smell!) but pop over to the website and have a look at the more wonderful gifts http://www.lyndseyloves.co.uk

The venue which is Chloe Simms' Beauty Bar is beautiful to say the least. We must commend the host at the door for her amazing personality and helpfulness. Let's not forget to mention there was food, champagne and cakes! What more could a girl ask for?

We received an amazing goody bag including a discount at Chloes Beauty Bar.

With that being said, Lyndsey you did an amazing job and we will continue to support and purchase gorgeous gifts from you, a gorgeous lady. Until next time xxx

Thigh High's the Limit

Thigh high boots are the ultimate winter essential! Wouldn't you agree?

Now this post will be very short and sweet as I think the boots speak for themselves.

I have been looking for the right pair of thigh highs that were not too high and not too short ...I despise kitten heels! I recently was recommended buying shoes from Justfab and thought hey, let's try it out. That was all she wrote as I found these Aliz  boots, I knew they were for me and I was right! They are both comfortable and sexy.

What I liked so much about JustFab was the personalisation of selection of shoes to your specific style. And as a treat for being a member, you get half price on your first purchase of a shoe or handbag which my purchase added up to a blissfully cheap £17.50.

I decided to go simple and pair with joni jeans and khaki green shirt. I hadn't worn my camel sheer coat from Asos in a while so threw that on too!

P.s. I would love to give some lame excuse for why my shirt isn't ironed but the truth is I'm way too spontaneous, impatient and sporadic to have taken the time to. In other words, I love a wrinkly shirt...It adds characters. Do with that information what you may :p.

Hope you guys like the outfit as well as my new hair, will be doing a post very soon. Until then! xx

Winter is coming

Hey everyone! Been a while since my last post but I've beeen busy- also you've probably realised that I'm a little bit lazy when it comes to posting. Winter is coming( a reference for all you Game of Thrones fans) and I have decided instead of going into my usual hibernating state that I would find some warm clothes and keep heading out into the cold. Which is lucky for you guys as that results in me doing more posts.

Although I generally prefer the warmer weather I do appreciate winter as it gives me the chance to layer up and enjoy cosy evenings in. This winter's  must have is the camel coat, which I've been dying to get my hands on, but as most of you know by now my style is limited by my low funds. So instead of going out to buy a new coat I decided to do a much needed wardrobe sort and found some good old pieces that surprisingly still fit me...sort of. This included this coat as well as this skirt and turtle neck- which I cut the shoulders off of to get that cold shoulder look. This goes to show that some of the best pieces you can find could already be in your closet!

Well, enough of my babble..have a look for yourselves!

More Money Than Sense

You guys must officially be getting tired of me now. You're probably thinking 'why aren't we getting any posts from Tarina?!' And to that I say I love you guys more than she ever will!...or possibly not lol. Tarina is currently working on our winter project and we are planning to have a few pieces for you guys for the winter! Eeek! As well as everyone knows, blogging is a time consuming hobby which we love and are very grateful to have eachother in terms of sharing the weight so to speak. I can definitely say writing has always been my passion whereas my sister is more hands on and loves making clothes. In due time, she will do a post on what her time has been going towards but in the meantime... More Money than Sense?

Who's ever heard a typical West Indian grandparent say this? I recently have had a strong thought about this expressing my feelings in this post and I thought you know what this is my blog and respectively I can talk about what I feel like and appropriately I feel like talking about the materialistic view to life that seems to be very prominent around me.

Now before I start my thought overload, this is no indirect dig at anyone but generally my opinion and I also welcome all my reader's thoughts. I love blogging, it is my favourite thing to do. I have always loved writing no matter what it was about. I remember being in primary school and writing short stories day after day like my life depended on it. After a while I grew out of it and never thought I would revisit my fondness for it again but aha, here I am! Being a newbie blogger has it's pros and cons, one con being it is hard growing a considerable audience and putting your blog on the map as there are so many other blogs out there and there is a constant, not openly acknowledged elephant in the room in form of having to prove why you are different from the plether of bloggers out there. Now, I love a bit of healthy competition as much as the next person but I don't believe that I should blog to prove to anyone that I am something I'm not.

Here is where I get onto the point of a materialistic view. Now, me as a self-confessed shopaholic who has an impulsive habit of buying something as soon as I set my eyes on it, I can honestly say I know my limit (most of the time). If I buy something, it is not because I want to flaunt in front of those who don't have it or to gain some type of a status not saying this is the main reason why people blog but I have noticed as times change, people have become more focused on how much money they have got in the closet than the effort it takes to put an outfit together. Call me old fashioned or whatever but I see that as laziness.

I have never understood why anyone would want to spend money on a big brand to just blog about it. Fair enough, if you have the money for it and actually have a genuine interest in that brand then buy to your heart's content as I love reading about high end fashion brands. However, I feel as a blogger, you should never try to be something you are not and I know it is hard as sometimes we are constantly enticed and encouraged by social media networks selling us an image of what we should be buying, what we should look like and who we should be.

As bloggers, we shouldn't have to feel like we have to break our bank accounts to get noticed by brands or anyone as a matter of fact. We should want to blog about our passions, loves and ambitions whatever they may be! My sister, as well as myself are all for the blogging community and we love reading about bloggers and the things they love so on behalf of both of us we would like to encourage that ethic of being yourself and not trying to be anything else.

One great thing about the blogging community is that everyone is unique in their own way, so ATTENTION to all bloggers out there...continue to be YOU! We love it!

That being said, with my lengthy rant over and on a brighter note... Instead of doing one post and then another, I have decided to do two posts in one which I think calls for a great conversation don't you think?!

  CHEAP & CHIC!!

If you've gotten this far into the post (I don't blame you if you shut off at the first paragraph :p), you would have gotten the emphasis of blogging about things you like and what I like is...

Moschino!

I could never afford their amazing collection without having to sell a leg or a arm and I am not one to spend big money on a phone case or makeup bag. So I thought let's do some real research into whether they have any fragrances as I am obsessed with smelling good and who isn't a sucker for good hygiene?!

Feel Unique is a great online shop for anything beauty related ranging from popular brands to brands just getting off the ground. I found a lot of fragrances from Moschino but Cheap & Chic immediately caught my attention and it was just around my price range. The postage was quick and the packaging was simple. The bottle itself made me very happy as I am the clumsiest person you will ever meet and I need a perfume bottle that I can grip onto tightly as I tend to drop them quite alot.

What about the smell? Once sprayed it comes off very strong but when it dries you get quite a mild sweet smell of what I can describe as flowers which honestly comes off as a natural scent. So if you ever get this fragance and someone asks you what perfume you are wearing, you can easily say "It's just my natural smell!"

Moschino Cheap Chic Eau De Toilett Spray 30ml

Would love to hear your thoughts on this post! Until next time x

Autumn Leaves

Pinch, punch, first day of the month..No returns!

We're in November guys *hums Drake - we made it*

Can you believe how fast this year is going?!

I thought I'd kick off Autumn properly with my take on Denim on Denim as my sister did a previous post about it in summer.

Now I don't think I will be writing a lot about this outfit as I think it speaks for itself but I will be talking about the key accessories, nails and makeup.

Let's start off with the rings from which I got from Asos, I wanted smooth chunky midi rings for ages and could never find any until their recent giant sale. I think the rings give the outfit a authentic edge, a look that says "I'm a classy lady but will still knock ya teeth out!" :p Perhaps that is my interpretation :/ lol

My nails I haven't done in a good ole while so once again the Nails inc set was from the Asos sale again which comes with instructions, three nail polishes including a top coat and letter stickers with a tool to stick them on. I used the Opi matte top coat instead to give a flatter effect.

Lastly, my makeup was as done as usual except instead of going for the norm of a darker lippy for autumn, I opted for a lighter shade of orange to be different and blend in with my friends the leaves which I might add they turned out not to be my friends in the end...have a look at our instagram and you'll find out why @clxthesoverpeople
