More Money Than Sense

You guys must officially be getting tired of me now. You're probably thinking 'why aren't we getting any posts from Tarina?!' And to that I say I love you guys more than she ever will!...or possibly not lol. Tarina is currently working on our winter project and we are planning to have a few pieces for you guys for the winter! Eeek! As well as everyone knows, blogging is a time consuming hobby which we love and are very grateful to have eachother in terms of sharing the weight so to speak. I can definitely say writing has always been my passion whereas my sister is more hands on and loves making clothes. In due time, she will do a post on what her time has been going towards but in the meantime... More Money than Sense?

Who's ever heard a typical West Indian grandparent say this? I recently have had a strong thought about this expressing my feelings in this post and I thought you know what this is my blog and respectively I can talk about what I feel like and appropriately I feel like talking about the materialistic view to life that seems to be very prominent around me.

Now before I start my thought overload, this is no indirect dig at anyone but generally my opinion and I also welcome all my reader's thoughts. I love blogging, it is my favourite thing to do. I have always loved writing no matter what it was about. I remember being in primary school and writing short stories day after day like my life depended on it. After a while I grew out of it and never thought I would revisit my fondness for it again but aha, here I am! Being a newbie blogger has it's pros and cons, one con being it is hard growing a considerable audience and putting your blog on the map as there are so many other blogs out there and there is a constant, not openly acknowledged elephant in the room in form of having to prove why you are different from the plether of bloggers out there. Now, I love a bit of healthy competition as much as the next person but I don't believe that I should blog to prove to anyone that I am something I'm not.

Here is where I get onto the point of a materialistic view. Now, me as a self-confessed shopaholic who has an impulsive habit of buying something as soon as I set my eyes on it, I can honestly say I know my limit (most of the time). If I buy something, it is not because I want to flaunt in front of those who don't have it or to gain some type of a status not saying this is the main reason why people blog but I have noticed as times change, people have become more focused on how much money they have got in the closet than the effort it takes to put an outfit together. Call me old fashioned or whatever but I see that as laziness.

I have never understood why anyone would want to spend money on a big brand to just blog about it. Fair enough, if you have the money for it and actually have a genuine interest in that brand then buy to your heart's content as I love reading about high end fashion brands. However, I feel as a blogger, you should never try to be something you are not and I know it is hard as sometimes we are constantly enticed and encouraged by social media networks selling us an image of what we should be buying, what we should look like and who we should be.

As bloggers, we shouldn't have to feel like we have to break our bank accounts to get noticed by brands or anyone as a matter of fact. We should want to blog about our passions, loves and ambitions whatever they may be! My sister, as well as myself are all for the blogging community and we love reading about bloggers and the things they love so on behalf of both of us we would like to encourage that ethic of being yourself and not trying to be anything else.

One great thing about the blogging community is that everyone is unique in their own way, so ATTENTION to all bloggers out there...continue to be YOU! We love it!

That being said, with my lengthy rant over and on a brighter note... Instead of doing one post and then another, I have decided to do two posts in one which I think calls for a great conversation don't you think?!

  CHEAP & CHIC!!

If you've gotten this far into the post (I don't blame you if you shut off at the first paragraph :p), you would have gotten the emphasis of blogging about things you like and what I like is...

Moschino!

I could never afford their amazing collection without having to sell a leg or a arm and I am not one to spend big money on a phone case or makeup bag. So I thought let's do some real research into whether they have any fragrances as I am obsessed with smelling good and who isn't a sucker for good hygiene?!

Feel Unique is a great online shop for anything beauty related ranging from popular brands to brands just getting off the ground. I found a lot of fragrances from Moschino but Cheap & Chic immediately caught my attention and it was just around my price range. The postage was quick and the packaging was simple. The bottle itself made me very happy as I am the clumsiest person you will ever meet and I need a perfume bottle that I can grip onto tightly as I tend to drop them quite alot.

What about the smell? Once sprayed it comes off very strong but when it dries you get quite a mild sweet smell of what I can describe as flowers which honestly comes off as a natural scent. So if you ever get this fragance and someone asks you what perfume you are wearing, you can easily say "It's just my natural smell!"

Moschino Cheap Chic Eau De Toilett Spray 30ml

Would love to hear your thoughts on this post! Until next time x
